Lotus Caravans Trooper (2026)
From $177,100
Lotus's family-friendly counterpart to the couples-only Off-Grid. Same Melbourne build, same S&M chassis + Cruisemaster Air Advantage XT BCS suspension, but configured for couples-plus-kids with 20 floor plans spanning 18'9" to 24'6". 600 Ah REDARC lithium, 1,050 W solar, German composite panels with underbody armour. Trooper Platinum (premium tier) and Trooper TRX (enhanced performance) variants extend the range upward.
What we like
- ✓ Family floor plans available — bunks, club lounges, twin beds
- ✓ Cruisemaster Air Advantage XT BCS air suspension (adjustable ride height)
- ✓ 1,050 W solar plus 600 Ah lithium — multi-week off-grid in stock spec
- ✓ Five-year factory warranty matches the build quality
What we don't
- ✕ Tare creeping past 3 tonnes pushes the tow-vehicle pool to 200/300-Series and F-Trucks
- ✕ Premium pricing — entry $177 k, Platinum and TRX higher
- ✕ Long build-slot waits (often 9–12 months from order)
- ✕ 190 L fresh water is modest for the off-grid positioning
